"Friends" Option?

I see on other forums there is a place where you can be "friends" with certain people and see when they are on or offline. You think something like this can be added to the site? I think it is a nice feature. Even just being able to see an online now list would be great.

Friends option seems meh but I like the idea of seeing who is online. I hate coming on here when I want to say something or ask someone something and I can't tell if they are here or not.

I agree about an online list. Even if it can only be seen by members.
