Brands

Since I lost some weight, I can fit in to a small and in some cases, an extra small. I am a very slim dude. I have such a hard time finding clothing in this sizing that I usually end up buying mediums which I swim in. I am not talking day to day brands, but higher end ones. It is like they only make a limited amount in the smaller sizes. Anyone else have trouble with their sizes?

I only shop higher end branded jackets and coats. Shirts and pants, unless they are suits, remain on the cheap side. A lot of times I have to size up and shrink them down. I am in between a small and a medium but the length of the medium is too long.

I do the same thing man. I will buy a size up and shrink it. You just wash it on cold then over dry it and stretch it accordingly. When you have the right fit, don't dry it anymore, only wash it.

Good call. I will have to try doing that and shrinking things down. I don't want to over shrink my clothes though. I have done that by mistake before.

Just pay attention to the materials. Cotton is the easiest to get away with shrinking but you have to be sure it is 100%. I always buy plain T shirts from Fruit of the Loom.

Uniqlo, Express, Banana Republic all sell XS sizes. You can also go online to eBay stores for Asian sizes which run one smaller than US and UK sizes.

I do agree with you, it seems like the small sizes are often sold out and no one buys the L/XL, but if you have trouble finding something then i think you are shopping at the wrong places. Example, higher end brands at department stores like Sears and the Bay will never have small sizes.

What do you consider higher end brands?

AND Fuck it with the shrinking. I have been told so many times by so many friends and sales associate that it will shrink. It won't. If it doesn't fit well, don't buy it. Even if it does shrink, it'll just stretch.

The shrinking thing is such BS. Honestly, you're better off going on Amazon or eBay and buying from Asian sellers. I'm from NYC and with all of this talk of people "getting taller and taller" why is it that I always find EVERY department store low or out of stock on XS, S and M items? Explain that one lol. They always have ton of L, XL and XXL (maybe even XXXXXL lol)

You should try French fashion retailers. They often carry smaller sizes. Celio and Jules are examples. My brother shops there. Not sure whether they ship internationally on their websites though.

Do you live in France and can you recommend any?
